Growing up in New York City, Irene spent much time noticing the array of colors, patterns, and textures of the world around her. The streets were alive with music and art. Growing up in the 60’s was an exciting time. She felt the excitement and energy of the city and would visit Inwood Park, the Cloisters, museums and Greenwich Village. It wasn’t until years later that she discovered the artist within her. Her artwork expresses a connection with primal elements: darkness, light, shadow, anger, fear, war, peace, intimacy, distance. She uses watercolor, watercolor ink, acrylic, pastels, collage. Irene believes creativity is life’s energy and God’s gift to us. Being open to its influence can reveal powerful changes to one’s life. HostingCT helped Irene to create a website to offer works of art for sale and a scheduling system for in-home paint parties.
