Float to the Top with these Tips for Better Business Local Search Results

There’s huge competition for Businesses to rank well for organic Local search results. Here are a few Tips to follow that will help your Business rank higher.

Make Your Blog / Website Content Relate to Local Search

Your goal is to create Web and Social content with a Local twist!

  • Create relevant pages or posts to compliment main pages of your site. If you sell products, create pages displaying other products that can be used with each other, or link together products that fall into the same category. For service companies, create pages that can link off main services offered – such as photos of work performed that week. Could be a drainage system installed, could be a landscaping project before and after. Just be sure to insert Local information as it relates to each page.
  • Pump up your Internal Linking of relevant webpages. When you mention a Service, Product, City, Town, State (location) be sure to link to other pages on your site.
  • Place a call-to-action (CTA) near the Top of your content/post and reference your location and specialty. Local viewers of your content will continue reading, and non-locals will move on if they deem your information not applicable to them.
  • Analyze your content with MouseFlow.com (free and paid plans) or Google Search Console. You can get an idea of what pages Local site visitors are reading. You can modify pages Local people aren’t visiting or reading. MouseFlow tracks clicks, mouse movement, scrolls, forms, and more. It shows an anonymous recording of the activity from each visitor on your site.

Types of Webpages to Create on Your Website Include:

Service Areas

Describe your Service Area in several paragraphs and include dialog about your Experience in several Local Communities. List the communities By Name. Link to webpages of the specific services you’ve provided in those communities. Link to City pages on your site. Link to Customer Reviews in those communities.

About Page

Optimize your bio to include your specific profession:

  • Master Carpenter
  • Certified Arborist
  • Licensed Esthetician
  • Expert Skincare
  • Etc, etc, etc

Describe your experience in detail and what makes you the best at the professional service you offer. Link to relevant pages such as services list, areas served, customer comments, community involvement, awards received, etc. People will usually make decisions on who they feel is best qualified, not necessarily who’s the closest to their location.

Search Terms

Optimize webpage content by using search terms people may use to find you. Don’t limit keywords and optimization to a singular word – use longer, specific terms people will type in to find someone Local.

Photo Gallery

Display photos of your products and/or services with text captions under each. Optimize the photos and the text and include Local information.

Separate Pages

Create separate pages for Residential services and Commercial services you offer. Content needs to be varied as applicable. Don’t make them exactly the same content because they’ll be deemed as “duplicate pages” by search engines. Designating separate pages will allow search results for each.

FAQ Page

List answers to common questions you receive from customers. A good page to weave Local information. You can list Local regulations, Local requirements, Local laws, etc.

The more relevant Local information you include on your website and Social media, the more people will connect with your Business. If you aren’t sure where to start with Local content integration, consult with your web specialist, as they can look at your content with an objective eye and implement changes that will allow your pages to perform better for organic search.
