Using Polls to Get More Website Visitors

In the ever-evolving world of online business, your website serves as more than just a digital storefront – it's your virtual salesperson, working around the clock to engage and convert visitors into customers.

But how well do you truly know the people who visit your website?

At HostingCT, we understand that success isn't just about having a pretty website; it's about driving action. That's why we're excited to introduce you to a powerful tool: polls.

By tapping into the thoughts and preferences of your website visitors, you unlock a treasure trove of insights that can transform your digital strategy. From understanding what resonates with your audience to pinpointing areas for improvement, polls empower you to make data-driven decisions that drive real results. It's time to turn passive browsers into active buyers – and we're here to help you every step of the way.

Common Questions asked of HostingCT about Polls:

How long does it take to build a poll?

After the initial 20min strategy call with our polling expert, It takes only about an hour to set up the project. HostingCT is a Certified Agency for polling and we have several certified team members who can run through the poll creation set ups quickly.

How long does it take to complete a polling project?

Depending on the number of people you wish to have in your poll, this is the primary determining variable on how long it takes.

15-50 people polled (at most 24 hours to get results)
50-150 people (24-36 hours)
150-500 people (36-72 hours)

How much would the estimated cost be?

Cost is dependent upon

  • the number of people that you wish to take the poll
  • what type of poll you are running and
  • how many variables (traits) you require. The more traits you pick, the higher the cost.

For your polls we would make sure everyone was in one of the primary age group of your clients. Let us know what age to set as "minimum" age. The smaller you make the age group the better the results of your poll will be.

What poll do you recommend?

The first poll we recommend that you run for your website is the "WEBSITE REVIEW" poll.

The poll asks respondents: “Please go to this website. What questions do you have after visiting this website?”

All respondents will be from the USA and to have 50 respondents review your website, the cost would be $500 and you would get a wealth of data.

Every single response given is summarized for you as well as a list of each respondent's answer with questions they feel they need to ask after reviewing your site.

Here is what the respondents will see with your first poll's question.

Here is what the respondents will see with your first poll's question.

Where do the people who take the survey come from?

You can pick what country you wish respondents to be polled from. Plus there are over 90 traits you can pick such as educational level, work experiences, age, gender identity, if they have pets, if they work from home, etc. (This causes the poll cost to go up with each "trait" that is added.)

We would make sure everyone was polled from the USA for you, unless you specifically ask us to add another country to your poll.

Is this work kept confidential?

This is a requirement to be a respondent of these polls. Questions and Answers as well as polls are confidential.

Respondents are banned from participating in additional polls if any information is given out or if they give useless responses to the poll questions.

What other polls do you recommend?

The second poll we recommend running is a heat map study or click map. This poll looks at a single page of your website (The home page or whatever landing page you wish to study).

This poll determines how many times a respondent will click on your page, etc.

Here is what the respondents will see with your first poll's question.

If you decide to run a click test on a page of your website, it would cost $500 to have 100 respondents at a basic price with only 5 traits (age, income level, gender identity, race, highest educational level).

Why should I use polls on my website and landing pages?

Your website is your most powerful sales tool in the digital world. It speaks for you when you are not around. Understanding your visitor is crucial for driving sales. Have you made it easy for your website visitor to contact you or buy a product or service from you?

By tapping into the preferences and behaviors of your website visitors, polls provide invaluable insights that directly impact turning a visitor into a customer. From optimizing product offerings to refining messaging for maximum impact, polls empower you to make data-driven decisions that drive revenue rather than you trying to guess what your website visitor is thinking or needing when they find you.
