With more and more people placing orders and doing business on their smartphones, it’s to your benefit to make it easy as possible for customers and/or potential clients to reach out to you directly from your website.
For many of your site visitors, the online Contact form may suffice for general questions, product/service quotes, comments and inquiries but depending on your business niche there are those who may need to speak with you or your staff immediately. This is where a Tap to Call option works wonders.
With over 100,000 active installs, the Call Now Button WordPress Plugin is a solid plugin for creating click-to-call options for display on varied devices.
Configuration Option for Display on Mobile Devices:
Install and Activate the Call Now Button Plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/call-now-button/
After the plugin is activated, go to “Settings” and Click the “Call Now” Button tab.
Configure the Settings:
Button Status - Check "Enabled".
Phone Number - Enter the phone number you want people to call.
Button Text - Leaving this Blank will display the Call Icon by itself. Entering “text” will allow your chosen text to display.
Click “+Advanced settings” to configure:
- Button Color
- Position
- Click Tracking
- Limit pages/posts to display
- Button Size
When all is configured to your preferences – Click the blue “Save Changes” button.
Once all is Saved, review the call Now Button on a mobile device to be sure it displays properly, and Test it out to confirm it’s operational
Configuration Option for Display on All Devices
This is the code as it displays in the HTML of a page. The links will Open the phone app on mobile devices. On Desktop computers - Mac users will see an option to open the link in Facetime and Windows 10 users will see the option to open in Skype.
