Zuka Catering of Manchester, Connecticut was approved by Capital Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) for a technical assistance grant. Performed by Hosting Connecticut, this grant provides digital services to help small businesses improve their digital footprint.

Zuka is a family-owned restaurant that brings together three world cuisines. They fuse dishes from Guyana, West Indies, and America to create an explosion of flavor for people in and around central Connecticut out of their Manchester location.

Before Hosting Connecticut, Sara worked in digital media solutions and advertising for companies such as Gannett, LocallQ, Tenga, Cars.com and the Tribune. This experience has provided her with the knowledge to provide customers with exemplary marketing results. Sara also has broad market insight and an excellent toolkit of resources that helps small businesses and nonprofits expand their digital reach and earn more business.

Harris Capital of Bloomfield, Connecticut was approved by Capital Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) for a technical assistance grant. In conjunction with Hosting Connecticut, this grant provides digital services to small businesses.

Harris Capital’s main goal is to educate families about long term care funding. As a financial advisor, Harris Capital helps its clients be prepared for long term health care emergencies. “Harris Capital is passionate about long term care funding; they know the terrible repercussions that a family can suffer if they haven’t planned ahead to care for aging loved ones,” said Paula Pierce, owner of Hosting Connecticut.

Hosting Connecticut LLC announced that they have been chosen by Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) to provide digital services to small businesses through their Technical Assistance grant program. 

The Capitol Region Council of Governments is a voluntary Council of Governments formed to initiate and implement regional programs of benefit to the towns and the region. 

Owner and Founder of Hosting Connecticut, Paula Pierce, was recently featured by the Women's Business Development Council on their "Success Stories" page. Pierce has attended many of the classes offered by WBDC over the years and is involved in the organization’s mentoring groups as well. This article looks at Paula's expansive background along with her expereince of working with the WBDC. She previously received the EMG grant for HostingCT, LLC to support customer relationship management and project management systems.

She is the owner of Karen Senteio Consulting where she specializes in courageous leadership. She works with leaders and organizations ready to unapologetically harness and leverage their greatest power for their greatest good. 

Hosting Connecticut LLC received an “Equity Match Grant” from the Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC) in New Haven, Connecticut. The grant was developed to help women-owned businesses take their companies to the next level. As Samantha Cross, business advisor at WBDC stated, “We are excited to see your business grow and look forward to supporting you as you move forward.” In addition to the financial award, the WBDC is offering a mentorship opportunity to all of EMG recipients.

Jeff Gaudiosi, owner of Misplaced Straws, has always had a passion for music. He has travelled the country for concerts and music which have been at the center of his life. Jeff has always loved sharing his thoughts on music and reviews of records and concerts on social media.  For years Jeff’s family and friends told him he should start a website to talk about music. Finally, in 2018, Jeff started MisplacedStraws.com.

The New England Bioassay (NEB) is a woman-owned small business enterprise that is located in Manchester, Connecticut. Since 1986, NEB has been providing toxicological services to industrial, municipal, environmental engineering, and risk assessment clients nationwide.

From their humble beginnings in the basement of a consulting firm to their own 5,000 sq ft lab facility, NEB is improving and growing exponentially. They have been expanding their client base into new geographical regions, developing new testing protocols, gaining new certifications, and taking advantage of new technology to improve data collection and efficiency.

Hosting Connecticut LLC worked tirelessly to redesign their website for visual appeal and a professional look that garners trust and interest in their brand. This included the use of the WordPress content management system, linking in their social media accounts and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices with keyword research and integration.
